20081220-23 Pulau Langkawi

I wanted to write about our trip to Langkawi but I just ended up staring at the monitor with nothing on my mind. Blank. I didn't want to write like a 'oh we did this and then that' kind of post. I mean, it's kind of boring at times. And it'll be bloody draggy. Just like an essay. I want a clean cut post. Straight to the point.

Oh, forget about that. I'll do the 'oh we did this and then that' post. But I promise I'll try not to be draggy.

So we stayed at this place called Nadias Inn at Chenang Beach (somehow I kept saying 'bridge' everytime I try to say 'beach'). We went three places on the first day, which is Langkawi Cable Car, Makam Mahsuri and Kuah Town.

I'm telling ya Langkawi Cable Car is the place to go, if you're not afraid of heights of course. It's located at Gunung Machinchang. The view from the peak station, which is 710 m tall is magnificient. Very, very strong wind at certain point.

The view from one of the peak station.
See those tiny white dots?
It's yachts.

Then Makam Mahsuri which we didn't visit it actually. We ended up sleeping in the bus with few others because we didn't get any actual sleep the previous night due to erm.. certain people. So no comment on this one. Though I don't find it appealing during my last visit.

Next stop was Kuah town, the 'duty-free heaven'. LOL. This is the place we did most of the chocolate and liquor hunting. It's abit like Bt Tinggi. Ya know, shop lots. So we did some survey to get the cheapest chocolates and liquor. Though the prices doesn't differ much. Just by a few ringgit.

That night we rented a kancil for RM60 per day so that we could drive to Kuah Town the next day to do some shoppings. Credits to Nicole and Balraj for walking a long way to find for a car. Since it's peak season now, Chenang Beach is swamped with tourists. Mostly ang mohs and a few Koreans.

Then the following day we woke up early in the morning to watch sun rise. After waiting for about 20 minutes? Correct me if I'm wrong. I have terrible sense of time. We didn't get to see the sun rise because some mini island or trees or whatever was blocking our way. But it was alright. It's been a while since I last saw the sun rising.

That's Balraj emo-ing XD

After that we went island hopping with the rest of the group. Except for Gary's gang and 'the bunch'. ROFL. The places that we went were Pulau Dayang Bunting, eagle feeding watching at Pulau Singa Besar and some remote island which I have no idea what the name is.

At first I didn't plan to take a dip but the sun was scorching hot and Pei Li looked like she's having the time of her life. So what the heck? I paid RM35 for this! The boat ride is definately rougher compared to Pangkor's. And that meant fun.

After our BBQ dinner prepared by the Inn we did abit of exploring along the street. There's this small stores that sells souvenirs and clothes. You can find ciplak Roxy and some other 'branded' goods. I couldn't resist to buy a cookie monster and an Elmo tee for me nephews. I had a hard time deciding which character for whom. So the simplest solution? Nicole asked which is more naughty. Adam of course. So I ended up choosing the cookie monster tee for him. There's also bistro/cafe/restaurant-like places with awesome interiors. Too bad I didn't snap any photos. We checked out the prices and it's kind of decent. Just like those cafe's mushrooming around Bt Tinggi.

Then we headed out to Chenang Beach armed with junk food and alcohol, along with Pn Salwati. We did alot of gossiping there. Korek info from her like there's no tomorrow. Until Melissa felt light-headed and I was high already. LOL. I have very low alcohol tolerance.

Next morning we check out at 10am and headed towards Kuah Town again and did last minute shopping. Then we proceeded to the jetty. Inside the departure hall waiting for our 1.45 ride, Pn Sal told us that apparently a ferry collapsed near Pulau Tuba or something. Thank God nothing of that sort happened during our ride. LOL. Or I won't be typing this now.

Overall, I think the trip was enjoyable. We had time for ourselves. Instead of just sitting in the bus to every location. We get to explore a lil' bit. I guess this is what you call independant huh? LOL.

See, this is the 'oh we did this and then that' type of post. Bloody long right? It's like writing essay entitled 'What I did during school holiday'. LOL. Don't care lah. It's 4 in the morning. I need to be at the sis house at 8.30am to babysit my nephews. Die.

Btw dedication to Kong Sze Tzing!

Happy belated 19th birthday!
You lah! Who ask you not to follow us to Langkawi?!
Then we can celebrate together mah!

Shortlisted?

The definition of 'shortlisted' is

A list of people who have been judged the most suitable for a job or prize, made from a longer list of people originally considered, and from which one person will be chosen.

So they finally called and we're being told that we're 'shortlisted' for the job. Which means? They confirmed hiring us? or we have to go through interviews etc again? Pei Li and Balraj thinks that we've got the job but I think otherwise. Am I being paranoid here? Or they used the wrong term? *sigh*

Imma stop thinking about it and start packing. Langkawi's tomorrow! Whee~~ Can't wait for sunny beaches and tour around the island. Woohoo~

I'm given the mission to buy chocolates that you can't find in Klang. Which I have no idea how to buy. Hey, I eat chocolates. Lots of 'em. But I don't care about the brand. As long as it says chocolate on the package.

Anyhows, I've just returned from badminton with Mei Yin, Lee Shin, Mary-Ruth and Yen Sze. Elaine and Yong Shien came after that. Oh, how I miss our Form 6 life. Exclude the last 3 months of course. Everyone now seems to be finding for work and all. Or rotting in the house. Hehe~

Btw, if any of you guys are interested with working with Buzznet, the work that I've mentioned above, let me know k. If you don't mind working from 4pm till 1am at Plaza Sentral (opposite KL Sentral). Transportation is included or if you're driving, they will provide you with transportation allowance. Though you have to go through a test first to prove your english command.

Twilight (I can't think of any other title)

Since I'm pretty much rotting in the house (they haven't call yet), I decided to download Twilight and watch it before reading the books. I thought I should watch it first because there's not much of a postive reviews that I've heard. Cause most of them had already read the book first. Mei Yin's the only one who commented that it's 'quite good'.

It's okay for me because I like romantic part. Though I must agree with Wayne that the part where they destroyed James was kind of disappointing. Very little action. I would want to see how they kill him and all. Abit more violence perhaps? But yeah, it is for teenage audience. So violence would be a big no no.

I would like to be in Bella's shoe. Ya know, being in love with a vampire and all. And I found a new love, Edward Cullen. I repeat, Edward Cullen. Not Robert Pattinson. I'm in love with the character, not the actor. Robert Pattinson looked more like a drug-addict to me. No where near dashingly handsome or anything like that.

I can't wait to get my hands on those books. This is the first time I'm attracted to a fictional character before even reading it. Hee~

Once you're bored and rotting, your mind starts to rot as well. There's no cure for it. Am still waiting for the phone call *sigh*

Wayne, where's the donut?!

tired and annoyed but happy XD

The PC's back! Woohoo~

And I just got back from Pyramid after watching Transporter 3. My god. Jason Statham is smoking hottttt with his killer bod *giggles*

Worth watching I'd say. Sooks, thanks for the recommendation!

Today was fun. Met up with Xiao Chien, Pinx, Wayne and guess who? Alvin. Yup. THE Alvin. I didn't expect him to be erm.. sociable? (Wayne don't angry k) He was alright lah. But I didn't talk much to him cause was kinda tired (slept around 3+). One thing that three of us agreed on was that they looked good together. Aih, forgot to take the pics from Xiao Chien so I can't upload it here. Anyhows, he's friendly I guess. At least he tried talking to us. He's cool. Yup, Wayne. You have my approval or I dare say OUR approval. ROFL. Like lah you need one.

Then Xiao Chien and I got cheeky after sending Pinx to her friend's house. We called her up and told her that we're lost. But the fact was we already reach my house. So she passed the phone to her friend and we had to tell him that we're only playing with her and had him pass back the phone to Pinx. We told her that we're surrounded by construction sites and there's nothing there. No car. No whatsoever. Then suddenly I told her we saw a 7-11, which is a hint (There's a 7-11 behind my house). Then she asked,

"Where is it?"

And I told her it's behind my house.

She was sooo bengang man! But thank god she took the joke well or I think she would slaughter us the next time we meet. ROFL.

Half of the day are gone and am still waiting for the phone call *sigh* Annoying =.='''

6 things I'm passionate about

1. Photography
I'm not good at it. But I feel adventurous when I'm holding the camera. Like wanting to get a better shot. Wanting to capture that particular moment. If I have the chance, I'll like to learn more about it. Maybe as a profession? Haha~ Nah, that will need talent.

2. the Internet
I'm an Internet-addict remember?

3. Reading
I'm an avid reader. When I start reading, I can't stop. I can't put the book down unless I have more important things to do. I like it best when I'm tucked under my blanket. But it's screwing my eyesight =(

4. Food
I eat when I'm hungry. I eat when I'm stressed out. I eat when my mouth is itchy (which is most of the time). So how not to gain weight? You tell me lah.

5. Music
I enjoy loads of genre of music. Pop, rock, classic, electronic, house, jazz, chamber etc. Anything that's good enough to catch my attention. Right now it's more of Jap/Korean stuff cause I'm tired of those songs sung in english. Similiar style. Similiar beat. Similiar rhythm. Boring.

6. Building/constructing/making/putting up/assembling
I gotta admit I'm fond of making something with my fingers. Like assembling Lego's or making some Do-It-Yourself stuff. Even cooking. I enjoy the process of it. I'll put all my efforts to complete it and sometimes the result might not be satisfactory but I'd still feel proud about it.

6 books I read recently

Does Tan Yin Toon's Success in STPM counted in this category?

I guess not.

1. Are You There God? It's me, Margaret by Judy Blume
This book is about how a pre-teen that had to confront issues that I believe every girl out there had to go through. It's funny, light and reminiscent.

2. Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen
For the n th time I've read this book, I will never get tired of it. Especially the part where Darcy confessed his love for Elizabeth. Gosh. Goosebumps.

3. The Constant Princess by Phillipa Gregory
I don't know about this book, really. At first I thought that it's kinda interesting but somehow after a while, I thought that it's a waste of time and money. Mix feelings.

4. Emma by Jane Austen
Never had the chance to finish it. Will do it soon.

5. David Cooperfield by Charles Dickens
I read a simplified version of this years ago and thought I should pick up a classic copy of it. Not my cup of tea but it killed time. Lots of it.

6. Me and Mr. Darcy by Alexandra Potter
Chick lit. What do ya expect other than happy endings? But this book shed a new light on Mr Darcy. Am still in love with him though. I was telling Pei Li they should invent a list on 'How to be Mr. Darcy' for the guys. ROFL.

6 songs/albums I can listen to over and over again

1. Hybrid Theory (album) - Linkin Park
My favourite album out of all. This is what made me a slave of LP.

2. Meteora (album) - Linkin Park
A more mature album. Though there's less turntablism in it. Better than Minutes to Midnight I'd say.

3. Konya Tsuki no Mieru Oka ni - B'z
Love the rhythm. Love the guitar solo. Love the voice. Love the singer. Love the music vid.

4. Better in Time - Leona Lewis
Somehow dramatic. Yeah, I need some right now.

5. I for You - Luna Sea
Great lyrics. Kinda cheesy. But who cares?

6. Digital Love - Daft Punk
Have you watched the music vid for this? No? Go youtube now!

6 things I learnt this past year

1. how to drive

2. to smile even when I'm irritated

3. more about myself and people around me

4. rat dissection

5. human nature

6. patience is a virtue

6 valuable things I own

1. Gameboy Color
No PS for me. No Wii. No PSP. No Nintendo DS. Just ol' Gameboy Color. It's not even advance. But I treasure this baby. Its purple in color sumore!

2. Sony Ericsson K800i
Well, I didn't expect to get this phone cause I was still searching for a better and possible, cheaper phone when I suggested it but me mum just came back from work one day with this phone. With warning that it's the last phone she's getting though. So I appreciate it a lot!

3. all Linkin Park albums and merchandises that I own
I know it might not be valuable for you guys. Afterall it's just a bunch of CD's and plastic stuff. But hey it was my only obsession for 5 years. Obsession is expensive too. Especially when it's pre-ordered from another country.

4. Polly Pockets Cinderella Stepmother's House
It's only a toy but it has great sentimental value for me.

5. berubinlah.blogspot.com
Proud, proud owner.

6. my growing book 'collections'
Not exactly collection lah but the quantity is growing, rapidly. Hope I can get more books after I start working *grins*

6 bloggers I tag

Nobody. But if Sooks, Nicole or anyone wants to do it. Be my guest =)

Preservation

After watching Chungking Express

Nowadays, most products have an expiry date.
Edible.
Cereal, tuna, baked beans, chocolates, etc
Non-edible.
Cling wrapper, facial cleanser, lotion, etc
But do memories have an expiry date?
If there is,
let the life span be centuries long from the production date.
Because I don't want our beautiful memories to rot.
I stood there, realizing something.
Realizing that I've been a fool all the while.
Thinking like a fool.
Acting like a fool.
Foolish fool.
I kept repeating to myself.
I was mad and upset for always persuading myself, putting hope and daydreaming.
In the end, nothing is gained.
Instead, I lost my pride.

That day, I promised myself not to be such fool again.
I musn't ponder on it anymore.
Let me resume to my usual self.
No more persuasion.
No more hope.
No more daydreaming.
Like I've always said,
Let bygones be bygones.
It will be bygone.
It is bygone.

Period.

Continuation

Of Friday...

I went our for dinner with Xiao Chien right after I got home from shopping at around 6+ after a quick shower. She wanted to watch Transporter 3 but we were 20 minutes too late and the next show starts at 9. So we decided to go for dinner since I was very hungry. We talked, we reminiscence, we gossiped, we laughed. Came back at the same time as me mum so I didn't give her any excuse to grumble. LOL. She's not grumbling lah. She might soon though.

POV on Saturday morning.

Funny thing happened this morning while I was half asleep. Me mum walked into my room and asked,

"Eh, I thought you said you're going out?"

And I was thinking,

"Eh, I thought you said cannot?"

But I was too tired to ask her so I just made some sound and go back to dreamland.

The thing is Mary-Ruth asked me to join her for the pay less book sale in Subang but Dewan Rakyat banned my petition. So in the end I didn't join her. It's a good thing anyways cause I've spent quite a large sum for my working clothes.

About the job, I dunno what to say. We're being cheated? I really don't know cause we're being delayed (again) for another week to start work. I don't trust the Maxis lady and I'm not putting any hope for the job. I don't want to be disappointed. So forget about the plans that I've made. Up to this point, I don't know if I'll get to execute my plans or not.

But Balraj found us another job which I'm quite satisfied with the conditions. The only catch is we have to be interviewed. And the interview is on the 12th (Friday). So if they can't confirm the hiring on the spot or delay the confirmation. Then I seriously don't know what to do cause the Maxis job starts three days after that.

All I can do now is wait and hope I'll get what I want.

To be continued

This entry was meant to be posted on Friday morning but I was chased off the laptop so I only get to complete the entry today. But it's not really complete yet. I'm going out again so I'll post another entry when I get the chance to use the laptop cause three person is fighting for the laptop. Only one person can use at a time. Being the youngest. I don't stand a chance.

POV on Friday morning

I'm kinda disappointed now cause I won't be able to visit The Cleft with Mary-Ruth, Pei Li and Mei Yin. Oh, the fun of it. But I'm not going to be a part of it. Was a part of it. For a few minutes. Until one of the Ahli Dewan Rakyat decided to ban my petition. You see, my family is like ahli Dewan Rakyat while I'm the poor normal citizen. But yeah, at least it's because I have to shop for my working clothes. It's a reasonable reason. Btw I bought one today. Mary-Ruth, thanks for persuading me to buy it. They're not critical, yet. LOL.

Anyways, I'm actually cool about STPM ending. I mean I wasn't particularly happy about it or sad. I didn't felt anything. I didn't expect this cause I thought that I'll be extremely happy. I have no idea what happened. I gave up already? Maybe. I do not know.

But after the last paper we had a really nice dinner. I was very happy that almost everyone could make it. Even Pau Sheng went for the dinner. Hehe~ Then we proceeded to Baskin Robbins. Peppermint. Me likey! Though I didn't know why we ended up in Modern after that. And today (which is yesterday) I sweat it all out. Jogging in the morning and badminton in the afternoon. POWER shots, which is a good thing. Then there's Mei Yin's special tricks. Let's do it again! =)

The feeling of the school life ending have not sunk it yet. I think its's because I still see schoolmates on a daily basis. It's just that we're not in the school compound. But yeah, soon it will. Hopefully not so soon though.
