For the past two days, I've been learning how to play the acoustic guitar from one of my housemate. She's majoring in music, piano if I'm not mistaken. Man, I tell you all those fretting (is that the correct term?) is a total killer. My fingers are still sore from it.
But heck, I'm happy that I finally got the chance to learn how to play an acoustic guitar! I had always been wanting to pick up an instrument, be it guitar or piano. And because it was convenient to bring guitar around, I've set my mind to learn the guitar instead. Though being the procrastinator that I am, the plan did not work out.
Until two nights ago when my housemate and I were so bored, we started playing with the guitar. Coincidentally her roommate came back from class and she taught us a few chords. And with the help of the music application in her SE cellphone (like Mei Yin and Pei Li's cellphone), we memorized the simpler chords.
Now I can play Zombie by the Cranberries already. And learning how to play Wake Me Up When September Ends by Green Day. LMAO. Though my friend told me to choose the 'true side' cos now I'm switching between both hands. The right hand seems easier for me to fret cos it's stronger compared to the left. And the fingertips of the right are rougher so it's less painful when I apply pressure on the string. But I'll see how it goes later. Still have to check the old guitar at my house to see if it's still usable.
All this make me kinda excited. LOL. Albeit it's hard but I'm not giving up ;)
